I want my own apartment; it'll be small but immaculately designed, with moody lighting and a superior sound system. And I'll invite lots of people over to watch movies or listen to music with me, till late, on my settee; we'll lean on each other beside a paper lampshade. Once in a while we'll turn everything off and talk in the dark. I'll keep a convenient supply of wine, fruit juice, and spare pillows. Because, essentially, this is what I need most: a space filled with friends to be quiet with.

you forgot "cat". or "cats". your hypothetical future apartment needs to be inhabited by a cat in order to attain true perfection.

i have several visions of my apartment. ideally it would be minimalist, modern and in stark colours. i would have an excellent shelving system. but knowing my tendency to messiness, reality would probably be somewhere comfortably soft with lots of sofas, divans and carpets for cushion when i inevitably slip and fall over something.

I've always thought of renting a shophouse (preferably with a yard) if I got the chance and it's within my means, and maybe I could have a cafe/tiny shop downstairs while I lived upstairs.
